OUR MANTRA

To finite moments and infinite outcomes.

For chances taken and shots missed.

To the trying and trying again.

For the thrill of the unknown.

To us.

To our struggles and our inherent worth.

For us.

For loving fiercely and living boldly.

To good food, great beer, and late nights.

For Tomorrow We Die.

Meet the Brewer

Meet Jeremy Borde, our head brewer! Jeremy was a college-going, mountain-biking, fun-loving snowboarder who boarded a train to Oregon, all because a high school buddy had faith that brewing would be something he would be great at. Jeremy became an assistant brewer in 1997 for the Ram Restaurant & Brewery. This is where he learned the fine details of the trade he’s now enjoyed for more than 20 years.

He remembers touring the Olympia Brewing Company as a small boy and telling his parents he would be a brewer when he grew up. He also said he would be a pilot, but you must tackle one childhood dream at a time.

Jeremy won his first, but certainly not last, Silver medal back in 2004 at the Great American Beer Festival. It was an American Brown Ale he brewed which he named Bee Sting Brown Ale but shortly after winning had to change the name to Bearcat Brown Ale. Known for staying consistent in his methods, Jeremy does not rush a process, staying true to who his is as a brewer and never altering his mythology based on others’ opinions. He is kind, easy to get along with, and incredibly likable; a fun-going beer nerd. Jeremy worries about the smallest details in his beer, which creates the best flavor profiles. It is amazing to watch him work his beer-loving magic.

Seasons play a significant role on the styles Jeremy focuses on; he loves a good stout in the winter and summer is full of pilsners, blondes and easy-drinking IPAs. He says in brewing, creativity is only limited by the ingredients available and an understanding or failure to understand how they work together. He tends to go for subtle and drinkable styles of beer when he is brewing, and really respects the feedback and direction his beer drinkers provide. He wants to see others enjoy his final products.
